ReachOut is our opportunity for CBSM students to be the “hands and feet” of Christ in our community. CBSMhas teamed up with a number of organizations in the Morgan County area to serve. On Wednesday nights in July, students will meet @ CBC (typically around 4pm, but times may differ each week) to receive the list of opportunities for that week. Students will then be split into separate teams for that night.
Organizations we have teamed up with for this summer:
Salvation Army * NCC * Wrestling Organization * Decatur City Schools * Morgan County Board of Ed.
(students choose each week which organization they would like to serve)
ReachOut will meet on the following Wednesday nights: July 15, 22, & 29.
Opportunities each week:
July 15
Salvation Army (working with homeless children * loving on them & doing Bible Clubs)
NCC (boxing up items for moving and other various activities)
Austin High School (landscaping and helping with the facilities * bring gardening/weeding tools)
Wrestling Organization (3-4 guys will be needed to help with cleaning equipments & wrestling training)
Meet @ CBC @ 4pm. We will return to CBC by 7:15pm.

October Note: We are planning to help Decatur Heritage Christian Academy in October. They are moving campuses/facilities and will need a lot of volunteer help to make the move. More info. about the move and our involvement (ReachOut) will be coming this Fall.

Last month, we finished our “Heart of Christ” series. Actually it was more than a series. It was the introduction of a strategy…a strategy to encourage/inspire students (and adults) to build relationships with those whom they live * work (school) * play.
The 3 weeks were extremely inspiring…but we didn’t want to stop there. Simply because moving through the point of inspiration [yet stopping at the doorstep of equipping] would only lead to frustration. “I want to show my friends Christ in the flesh, and love them to Jesus, but I don’t know exactly how”…would become a common saying among those inspired yet not equipped.
Introducing - ‘Revolution’…an 8-week study from SLU to help us equip you (yes, that’s you reading this) to reach your friends for Christ.
We are starting June 1 (Monday) @ 3:30pm @ CBSM. The cost is only $7 for the book. It will run 8 weeks, leading up to the beginning of school in the fall. If you haven’t signed up, then please shoot us an email this week.
