Guests
Welcome to CBSM Online! We are glad you stopped by. Stay awhile and check out our pics, vids, and blogs. Be sure to check out our schedule and drop by to visit us sometime. You’re always welcome!
Who’s Welcome
Everyone is welcome…all of the time! CBSM is a great place to hang out. If you’ve never been, come on over. We would love to have you as a part of our group. We are an open group of students (and adults) who work hard at loving and accepting everyone. Come try it out. You’ll find someone who cares about you and loves you. If you’re nervous about coming alone, then grab a friend and come together.
Where Do You Go?
All students meet on the 3rd floor. Just hop on the escalator and ride it to the top.
Go to the Welcome Desk and someone will help you find out where to go.
What We Do
We spend time together each week having fun, growing closer to each other, worshipping God, and learning how to become more like Christ. Some of the things we offer each week: Refuel Cafe, Game Rooms, Overflow & Flood (worship services, Central U. (discipleship classes), and LifeGroups (small groups).
//Overflow & Flood
Our worship experiences are Overflow (MS) & Flood (HS) - where we include a live student band, videos, and teaching to inspire/challenge you live more like Christ. These worship experiences are the easiest way to come hang out with us - especially if you’re coming alone.
//Central U.
Central U. is offered as a university-type setting where each semester you have a choice between different classes offered. These classes are led by well-equipped adult leaders who teach the principles and teachings of God, found in Scripture. The intent of Central U. is to help you discover what God has to say about all areas of your life, and how to best live out His purposes in your world.
//LifeGroups
LifeGroups are a great place to really get to know other students. They are small groups of students (around 6-8) and a leader (or 2). We call them LifeGroups, because the purpose is to give students a small group atmosphere in which they can “do life together” and specifically care for one another. Each week, these groups meet on Sunday mornings to: talk about what’s going on in their individual lives, discuss and discover how God’s Word applies to daily life, and provide encouragement to one another. LifeGroups are the best way to really get involved at CBSM.
Check out our Schedule to see when these take place (note: MS & HS schedules vary).
All of this, in our view, is best done in community - in a group of friends. Life wasn’t meant to be lived alone. Our CBSM logo is a “1” because we value living in unity (as 1). In Romans 15:5-7, God compels us to have a “spirit of unity”, one heart and mouth, and accept one another - all to bring Glory to Him.
Why We Believe
Many people wonder - “why believe in God at all…what difference would it make in my life?”. We understand the question. How can you really know and trust a God you can’t actually see?
But we believe you can.
God’s Word tells us that He created - us and all that we experience in our daily lives (Genesis 1). He cared enough to make us “in His image”. However, we are all still human and make mistakes every day. We are also sinful people (who make choices that do not bring glory to God - Romans 3:23). We were made to be in relationship (fellowship) with our Creator.
But, to be in a right relationship with a perfect God, there must be payment (atonement) for our sinful nature (our turning away from a Holy God). God has provided that, through His Son Jesus Christ (John 3:16-17 & I Peter 2:22-25). It is the ultimate gift from God Himself (Romans 6:23). He provided a way for us to no longer be spiritually dead in our sinful nature, but to experience life - true life (Ephesians 2:1-9 & John 10:10). His love for us is greater than we could ever understand (I John 3:1)…and His love for us is what allows us to love Him back (I John 4:19).
God’s plan for you is that you would place your trust in Him and His way for life…that you would admit that you have acted in sin (in ways that are not pleasing to Him)…that you would believe that Jesus Christ did come to die for us and was raised again to life…and that you believe that He is God Almighty (Romans 10:9-10).
God has spoken all of this in His Word (Bible). We have complete confidence, trusting in the truth in Scripture. II Timothy 3:16-17 tells us that every part of the Word comes from God and is useful for us to live the life that God has called us to live.
We would love the opportunity to talk with you if you have any questions about giving your life to Christ. We’re also here if you just have more questions about what goes on at CBSM. Fill out the “Contact Us” form and we will get back with you as quickly as we can.
Thanks again for stopping by CBSM Online.
